The New Stuff

I've only been using the new stuff (Nivea) for a few days so I know it's only days yet but I haven't really noticed any changes yet in my face. The only thing I have noticed is that my face is extra red after I have used the cleansing gel; however I've noticed that my face tends to get redder after washing it normally any way.

I Won Some Skincare Products

I went to the Nivea website last week after checking out another website (shopfree.com.au) that has free stuff & links to give aways, at least I think it was that site I got the link from. Anyway to cut a long story short I clicked on a link where you could possibly receive some nivea visage products. Within 24 hours of my completing the form that they you need to fill in & telling them why I would like to win a pack. I received an email stating that I had won a pack. It arrived in the mail today.

The pack included Oxygen Power Skin Care Systems Reviving Cleansing Gel, Reviving Day Cream & Reviving Night Cream.

How did they choose me? Well basically I told them that I have psoriasis on my face and that I have trouble finding products that help my skin clear up. It was as simple as that.
So tonight I have a new set of products to test and see if they help. I hope they do something positive for my face. I am so tired of seeing red blotches everywhere!!

Yay - we're finally home!

Boy am I so glad to be home. It was truly nice being away seeing family and friends but there is nothing like coming home!! We had such a long trip. We left at 6 p.m. Adelaide time and we arrived home at 6 a.m. our time - an 11 and a half hour trip!! By the time I wound down from travelling I finally was able to get about 4 hours sleep and a shower. It certainly made me feel a lot better.

ID photos

It's pretty much the same old thing day in day out and there's no real progress in how my skin is going. No major improvements or anything ~ well none that I can see. I did see my GP last week though and got some of the 'usual' lotions and potions.~ celestone cream and the daivonex ointment.

My face is as red as ever, well I think so at least. I had to get a passport sized photo today for my Working with Children application, which I need for Church as I teach Sunday School to the Nurser children. I truly do not like the picture that was taken. My face looks red; my hair looked yuk! And I even tried to make myself look nice before I left home. I had my hair looking very pretty and I even had a little bit of make up on. I don't know why I even bothered as all ID photos look disgusting and not like you really are. They don't even let you smile for them. How unnatural is that??!! Thank goodness I wont have to get another photo done for a very long time!!

Another Naturopath Visit

Golly I forgot to phone Sarah today to make sure that it was still okay to visit her tomorrow. I'd better see her since I had been going vegetarian for the past two weeks. I am beginning to crave a bit of meat and I want to know if it's okay to start eating something other than just fish, even if it's just chicken.

I have to admit that since starting that herbal tonic again that my skin hasn't been so flaky. Well more so this week than last week. I haven't had to grab the vacuum cleaner as often so that's a good thing. The stuff still doesn't taste the best but I am getting used to it again. I'm not quite as itchy as I was previously but that is probably to do with the fact that there are less flakes now. I don't think I am quite as red either. Although my face has not changed all that much. I still have P from the bottom of my nose & upwards. It's the one place I want to change but nothing seems to help. Surely there is something out there that can help. I see my GP tomorrow so I might ask him for something. I know I need some more celestone at least.

Red Faced

I just had a look at my face in the mirror. Gosh I didn't realise how RED I am. It's no wonder that the kid from Brodie's school said I was red faced. It looks just awful right now. It didn't look this bad the other day.
Sheesh I can't seem to win!!

Yuk!

What a horrid last 36 hours I've had. I was so sick yesterday that I was in total agony with stomach cramps. I lay on the couch for most of the day and when I finally went to bed I couldn't sleep properly. The boys were so worried about their Mumma bless their little hearts. They even behaved a bit better but took full advantage of my not sending them to bed at their usual bedtime because I was half asleep and in pain.
I've been pretty good doing my baking even though its been so cold but there was no way I could've handled standing still for half an hour! Not even if I had split the session into smaller more manageable chunks.
Thank goodness I am feeling a lot better than yesterday so tomorrow I'll be able to do my baking again, even though its cold!

I'm so ticked off with how my face looks right now, well ALL my skin really. It's so red, extra flaky and sore. I suppose that's to be expected though since I've had a pretty miserable start to the week. I just hope that my face looks better soon. It's just disgusting right now. Almost bad enough to warrant a paper bag lol not that I would ever hide my face like that.
I'm off to go warm myself up. It's SO cold in here!!

Face It!

Gosh I am so tired of my face being so RED! I'm just fed up with having such a flushed looking face. Sometimes it looks okay and other times it looks as red as a beet. Now I remember my derm prescribing stuff for my face, because frankly the other creams are too harsh/strong for it but for the life of me I cannot remember which cream it was. I have a few tubes of creams and ointments stashed but I just have no clue as to which one it is! This is SO frustrating!!!!

In the past I have heard people whispering about how red my face is. At the time I could care less. They probably thought it was sunburn anyway. But right now I believe that if I heard someone mention it I would probably cry or scream .. or maybe even both.
I have no idea why today of all days I feel like this .. not that this is a special day or anything. Perhaps it's because I saw a photo that was taken while we were on holidays over Christmas. My face looked awful red then and still does.

Right now all I know is that I HATE this darned P! And I would give anything for it to be anywhere except on my face!! When will they find a cure for this blasted stuff ???!!!!

Time Consuming

Do you realise how time consuming it is to put on all my lotions & potions? I've never really timed it but maybe I should. I know some people take a lot longer than I do. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I sometimes don't do myself some justice by applying everything properly. I have about 8 products which I should be using for the different areas of my body. Stuff for the scalp, the face, the eyes, etc.

Last night it took me at least 30 minutes just to do my legs & arms (I couldn't be bothered afterwards to do my torso). Making sure I only got my P and not my normal skin. I don't normally take my time ~ just call me slap happy rofl.
The cream I used last night,
Daivonex ointment (CSL Limited), is only supposed to go on the spots. Don't get me wrong it's good stuff when you use it properly but I get slack sometimes. After all I've had this horrid disease for over 30 years now and you get complacent after a while.

Goodness I've lost my train of thought but hey that's nothing unusual for me. Maybe I'll come back to this later when I remember what I wanted to say.
