I was diagnosed with Psoriasis when I was 7 years old. I've had it for so long that I have forgotten what it's like to have 'normal skin' although I did go into remission once when I lived up in Darwin. It wasn't a complete remission I still had psoriasis on my scalp & around my ears but that was easily covered with my hair.
Over the years I have tried many different treatments. Not all of them worked and some were much more successful than others.
I have to admit though I am a slacker. I'm not as regimented as I should be when it comes to using all of the lotions & potions that I am prescribed but I do my best (most days) to follow doctors orders.
I live in country Victoria, Australia but I was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. I am currently a Carer and a Stay At Home Mum
I have two extremely annoying delightful young men who drive me absolutely balmy at times. My oldest is 17 (he has Aspergers Syndrome & ADHD plus a few other challenges thrown into the mix) and my youngest is 14 (he too has ADHD). Both my boys suffer with psoriasis in some form although they do not have it anywhere as severe as I do. They also go into remission much more easily than I do & are currently psoriasis free.
I am a carer for my partner in crime & best friend, Mark. Mark has Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and some other things I wont bore you with. Mark also has psoriasis (as does his Mum & she has it worse than I do) but like the boys his is more easily controllable than mine. In fact he is in remission more often than not.
As you can probably guess that it can get exciting around here at times. It certainly keeps me on my toes. All in all I wouldn’t change a thing. Well maybe I would.
